The USS Yorktown is a social group based on Star Trek, but we enjoy a variety of genres.  Our charter city is Kingsport, in which the bulk of our membership lives.  Some live in other parts of Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia, and even Wales!  Our chapter is a proud member of Region 1, part of STARFLEET International.

 

We do many fun activities, such bowling, skating, miniature golf, river tubing, kayaking, camping, stargazing, hiking, games of all sorts, LARP, cosplay, pirate lore, Steampunk, and more.  But it isn't all fun and games with the Yorktown.  We participate in many community service projects, such as Second Harvest Food Bank, Red Cross, charity fundraisers, Salvation Army Angel Tree, Little Dresses for Africa, Tri-Pride, Habitat for Humanity, among others. Recycling and other ways of taking care of our planet are also very important to us.

 

While you don't have to be a member of SFI to join our crew, it is encouraged.  Out of the local area members must participate in meetings via Zoom.  We do not discuss politics or religion during meetings or activities.
